Weight Loss Food
Whilst it is known medical fact that there are a few conditions that can cause a person to gain weight like thyroid or hormone problems, by far the biggest contributor to weight gain is too much food. However, there are foods that help with weight loss and controlling weight generally if you are prepared to take responsibility for your weight. There are so many great kinds of food that not only maintain an enviable physical shape, but also stimulate fat burn. Your diet does not have to be boring as almost all categories of food have elements which are healthy and help weight loss.
You should try meals that have a variety of vegetables and although all will be good for you there are some that are better when it comes to weight loss like peas, boiled beans, cabbage and brussels. Tomato sauce is actually better for you than tomatoes but if you add this to a portion of spaghetti and perhaps mix it with some veal which is also low in fat you have a highly nutritious low fat, great tasting meal. Furthermore, white fish is another option together with boiled vegetables, even mashed potatoes are considered to be a low caloric intake. Most of us we need to have flavor in our food and with weight loss foods there is no need to compromise on this and to prove it you can eat porridge, dark rice, yoghurt and low fat cream cheese all of which are full of taste.
Apart form vegetables most fruits are good for the metabolism, being full of antioxidants but special mention should be made of oranges, lemons, grapefruits and especially apples. Strawberries are also good weight loss foods as are water melons and kiwi which is often considered a rather exotic fruit. Grapes can also be good but bananas and figs actually contain high amounts of calories although bananas are an excellent fuel source when you are carrying out physical activity. Most vegetables that are frequently used in salads such as tomatoes, celery, lettuce and cucumbers are also very good at helping with weight loss.
You will notice that at no point have cakes, chocolates or any type of junk food been mentioned here as they are more than likely responsible for your weight gain. If you do not think you can give up your dark chocolate or ice-cream for example, you will now find that most foods come with a low-fat option as part of the range. If you want to include such products in your weight loss food programming, it would be a good idea to read all the specifications on the packages as related to the ingredients and the amount of calories.
